Welcome to PACLab 

The Perception And Cognition LABoratory (PACLab) at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst is directed by Andrew Cohen.  The main focus of the lab is investigating the building blocks, or features, that underlie perception and exploring how multiple features are combined to determine higher-level cognitive decisions in tasks of perceptual classification, recognition memory, judgment, decision-making, and identification.  Formal quantitative models are employed to inform and interpret empirical research.
