We view quantitative models as essential tools for interpreting data; in our lab, those models are most often rooted in signal detection theory.  Ongoing projects apply those models to memory (with support from the NIH) and to reasoning processes (with support from the NSF).  In addition to multidimensional signal detection models, we also use reaction time modeling to understand the processes that drive recognition memory judgments.
