Umass Psychology PeopleDr. Charles CliftonPosition(s): Research Faculty Chuck's area of interest is psycholinguistics. He studies how people use their knowledge of linguistic structure to comprehend language that they read or hear -- i.e., he does psycholinguistics. He has retired from active teaching, but is appointed as Research Professor and Professor Emeritus. He continues to do research in collaboration with Lyn Frazier, Adrian Staub, and others. He has written and directed the writing of computer software for controlling experiments (eyetracking and otherwise) and analyzing data.
